|Leadership Tip of the Month: Wandering Aimlessly?
You should be--it'll make you a better leader.
People are more likely to follow leaders they know and trust. To build those relationships, put down your technology, get out from behind your desk and start wandering--literally. Pay attention to the photos and other objects employees display. Ask your staff questions and show an interest in what is important to them. Take a small group to coffee with no agenda other than to get to know them.
By connecting on a more personal level with your employees, you'll gain their trust--and become a better leader in the process.
